Lecture User Guide for Cisco Website

1) When windows 7 has finished the start-up process on the computer keyboard on the bottom left at the end of the keyboard there is a ctrl key and next to the ctrl key is the windows key. Press the windows key and you should be taken to the search bar by default in windows 7. In the search box type mozilla all in lower case letters and by default the first program that pops up should be Mozilla Firefox. Then press the enter key. If Mozilla Firefox does not appear first then press the down arrow key until you reach Mozilla Firefox and then press enter.

2) press the insert key plus the shift key plus the F6 key and then press the tab key once. This will take you to the navigator bar enter cisco.netacad.net and then press the enter key.

3) press the insert key plus the F7 key and then press the L key twice, press the enter key and then press the enter key again this will take you to the second Cisco networking academy login page. Now press the insert key plus the F7 key and then press the L key once. Press the enter key and then press the enter key again.

4) Enter username for student or lecture and then press the tab key once. Enter the password for your account and then press the tab key again which takes you to the log in button and then press enter.

5) Press the Insert key plus the F6 key twice. Press the insert key and continue to hold down while also pressing the F7 key. Type cr and then press the enter key this will open up a new course dialog window called create a course.

6) Press the Insert key plus the escape key and then press the ctrl key plus the home key. Press the down arrow key once and then press the tab key which will take you to the course name edit field. The NVDA will go through all of the various combo boxes and edit fields displayed on the screen. Enter the course name and press the tab key. Type in course ID information and press the tab key again to select language and version using the up and down arrow keys. Press the tab key to enter the start date and then press the tab key again to enter the conclude date. Press the tab key to select a qualified instructor by using the up and down arrow keys and press the enter key otherwise press the tab key again which takes you to the save button and then press the enter key.

7) Press the home key and then press the L key twice to access course. Use the up and down arrow keys to select different course units from the course list.

8) (!!!search through course list) Press the Insert key plus the F6 key twice. Press the insert key and continue to hold down then press the F7 key which open up the element list and press and hold the up arrow key until your at share idea and type tea in the element list to get to teach. Press the alt key, plus m key and then press the tab key three times. Press the k key once and then press the enter key which will open a new web page which contains various student account settings, instructor account settings and course settings that can be changed.

9) Press the insert key plus the escape key then press the insert key again plus the F7 key. Press the letter a key two times and then press the enter key which opens up a new web page to create new student accounts and other settings for students.

10) Press the tab key once and then press the letter e key twice which will take you to the first name edit field for the users account. Enter first name information and press the tab key. Enter information for last name and press the tab key again to enter email address Press the tab key again to enter student ID and then press the tab key again which takes you to the addition button and press the enter key then press the tab key again to enter the new user account information and repeat the same steps from the beginning of step 10. Otherwise press the tab key from the addition button without pressing the enter key to be on the save button and press the enter key.

11) (!!!importing student accounts) follow the user guide up to step 9. Press the Insert key plus the escape key. Press the insert key plus the F7 key and then press the letter u key. Press the enter key once that opens a new windows called upload a CSV and then press the ctrl key plus the home key and then press the tab key three times. Press the enter key which opens up a new window called new file upload. Highlight the CSV file by NVDA reading each highlighted file using the arrow keys and keyboard shortcuts. When finished in the file upload window click the open button to select the CSV file press the tab key which takes you to a button called upload CSV file and press the enter key to upload the selected CSV file to Cisco networking academy.

12) (!!!creating Tokens) follow the user guide up to step 9. Press the insert key plus the escape key. Press the insert key plus the F7 key and then press the letter a key five times which takes you to add seats in the element list. Which opens a new dialog windows called add seats Press the ctrl key plus the home key and then press the tab key three which takes you to an edit field called number of tokens. You can enter any number of tokens for any number of students in the class. Press the tab key to land on the submit button and then press the enter key to submit the number of tokens to students which then shows you a list of the unique codes for each token. If the codes for each token needs to be printed press the tab key and then press the enter key. If the token codes are not to be printed then press the escape key which takes you back to the webpage with the various lecture accounts, student accounts and course settings.

Creating Assignments

1) At the Cisco Networking Academy Homepage use the home key and press the L letter key twice then press the tab key three times and use the up and down arrow keys to select the course you want. When NVDA tells you the name of the course press enter.

2) You are now at the Cisco course homepage. Press the insert key plus the escape key then press the insert key again plus the f7 key. Press the letter A key four times which takes you to the word assignment . Press the enter key. This takes you to the assignment web page where you can add assignments to courses and groups of students.

3) Press the insert key plus the escape key then press the insert key again plus the f7. Press the letter A key 5 times and then press the enter key. This takes you to the assignments text box edit field where you can name the assignment after naming the assignment name.

4) Press the tab key this takes you to a list of the various types of assignments you can create by using the up and down arrow keys after selecting the type of assignments. Press the tab key which takes you to the due date edit text field box.

5) Enter the due date by using the number keys or a combination of numbers and words. Press the tab key which takes you to the points edit text box.

6) Using the number keys enter the amount of points for the assignment and press the tab key. This takes you a more options link key which opens a new web page where the top half of the page has a large text box with various text box functions and beneath the text box are various functions to alter the assignment. Press the tab key which takes you to the cancel button, press the tab key again which takes you to the update button and press enter. The assignment has now been made for students to complete.

More options tab for assignments

7) Press the tab key once either before or after you have entered information into the large text box. This takes you different types of the assignments. Using the up and down arrow keys choose the type of assignment that is needed. Press the tab key which takes you to the title text edit box where the title of the assignment can be altered. Press the tab key once which takes you to the assignment group list box. This allows you to choose which area students will complete the assignment from a list of chapter exams, skill exams, final exam, practice certification exam, student completion, access course content and new group. The list can be accessed by using the up and down arrow keys. Press the tab key once which takes you to the points edit text box where you can enter the amount of points to the assignment, after entering the points for the assignment press the tab key once which then takes you to the grading by list field. This allows you to choose how the assignment is graded. Press the tab key once which then takes you to the due edit field text box by using the number keys or a combination of numbers and words. After entering the due date for the assignment press the tab key once this takes you to a check box which reads This is a group assignment. If the check box is ticked it opens up sub check boxes and a list box. Press the tab key once. This takes you to Assign grades to each student individually check box. If you choose to assign grades or not to assign grades individually press the tab key once this takes you to the locked until edit text field. Enter the date by using the number keys or a combination of numbers and words. Press the tab key once. This takes you to require peers review check box if selected press the tab key once and use the up and down arrow keys to choose between manually assign peer reviews or automatically assign peer reviews. If automatically assign peer reviews is chosen it opens up two new text boxes which are called reviews per user where you can enter a number of how many users can review the assignment. The second text box is called assign reviews, users can review the assignment before or after the due date. These text boxes are date text boxes. These text boxes can be accessed by pressing the tab key once. If automatically assign peer reviews option is chosen press the tab key once to go to assign reviews.

If require peer reviews check box was ticked or not ticked and manually assign peers reviews were chosen or automatically chosen and the sub text boxes completed press the tab key once. This takes you to submission list box and lets you choose how the assignment will be submitted. Press the tab key once this takes you to lock submits text date box which is entered by using the number keys or a combination of numbers and words. Press the tab key once which takes you to a check box that reads notify users that this content has changed. Press the tab key once you have made your decision. This takes you to another check box that says lock assignment properties when copied. After your decision press the tab key twice which takes you to a button called update assignment and press enter.

Creating Quizzes

1) follow assignments walkthrough up to step 4 and press the tab key. This takes you to type list box choose quiz by using the up and down arrow keys.

2) Press the tab key once. The due date of the quiz is entered by using the number keys or a combination of numbers and words.

3) Press the tab key once and you will be at the points edit text box. Enter the number of points to the assignment.

4) Press the tab key once this takes you to the more options link button and press enter.

5) You will now be taken to a new web page with a large rich text box in the middle of the web page. The lecturer can write various quiz questions with various word functions. After writing the quiz questions press the tab key once.

6) you will now be on the type list box press the tab key again.

7) This will take you to the assignment group list box where you can determine how the student completes the quiz. Go through the list by using the up and down arrow keys. Once chosen press the tab key once (But does not show up if quiz type is Practice or Ungraded survey).

8) This takes you to shuffle answers combo box. After enabling or leaving the combo box blank press the tab key once.

9) This takes you to time limit combo box. After enabling or leaving the combo box blank press the tab key once.

10) At the Allow Multiple Attempts combo box you can opt to select or not select the combo box. After deciding press the tab key once.

11) This takes you to a combo box that reads let students see their quiz responses. If the combo box is selected it opens up a sub combo box that reads show which answers were correct. If the sub combo box is selected press the tab key once which takes you to Allow Multiple Attempts. If neither the sub combo box and combo box for let students see their quiz responses is selected press the tab key once. This takes you to Allow Multiple Attempts.

12) This takes you to Restrict this quiz combo box. You can select or not select the combo box. After deciding press the tab key once.

13) This takes you to Show one question at a time combo box. You can select or not select the combo box. After deciding press the tab key once.

14) This will take you to the For Setting. If you wish you can alter the for setting of the quiz otherwise press the tab key once.

15) This will take you to the due date. If you wish you can alter the due date of the quiz otherwise press the tab key once.

16) This takes you to the Available From edit box. You can enter the date by using a combination of words and numbers. After entering the date press the tab key once.

17) This takes you to the locked until edit box. You can enter the date by using a combination of words and numbers. After entering the date press the tab key once.

18) This takes you to a check box that reads notify users that this content has changed. Once you have made your decision press the tab key once.

19) This will take you to another check box that says lock assignment properties when copied. when you have made your decision press the tab key twice and press the enter key once. This takes you back to the assignment web page section for the course.

20) Press the Insert key plus the escape key then press the insert key again plus the F7 key. Type quiz this takes you to the quizzes section and then press the enter key.

21) Press the tab key once this takes you to a Link edit quize that allows you access quiz options and quiz instructions.

22) Press the nvda key plus the escape key and then press the nvda key plus the f6 key twice and then press the nvda key plus the f7 key which opens up the element list and the word settings will be highlighted and press the down arrow keys once to highlight the questions word in the element list and press the enter key once this opens up the questions dialog box.

23) With NVDA active Press the L button between two or three times until NVDA tells you outer box with 22 toolbar functions with rich text area box. Press the tab key once. This takes you to the rich area text where you where you can enter questions for the quiz. Press the tab key once.

24) You are automatically taken to the text field box for the name of the question that you want to keep or change. When finished press the tab key once.

25) This takes you to a list of various question types that can be used to test students. Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll through the list. When finished press the tab key once.

26) This takes you to the points that this question is worth after entering a numbered value for the points press the tab key three times.

27) This takes you to the question rich area text box you can enter the question or questions for the quiz after the quiz questions have been written.

28) Press the tab key three times this takes you to answers text field box where you can enter the answer for the question after entering the correct answer press the tab key once.

29) This takes you to the answer comment section of the answer text. You can write a comment on this answer. After writing a comment or leaving it blank press the tab key once this takes you to a pencil button which creates a medium sized rich area text box with various word functions. For the answer text field box or rich area text field box press tab key once.

30) You will be taken to the delete button. to leave the current answer in the answer text field press the tab key twice to erase the question press the enter key once.

31) This takes you to Answer text where you can add an answer to the question or skip the answer by pressing the tab key five times. This takes you to the Add another answer Link that adds another answer text that can be used as another answer for the question otherwise press the tab key once.

32) This takes you to the correct answer comment where you can write comments for the answers or leave blank then press the tab key once.

33) This takes you to the wrong answer comment where you can write comments on why this answer is not correct or leave blank and press the tab key once.

34) This takes you to general answer comments where you can write comments or leave it blank and then press the tab key four times.

35) This takes you to new question group button. Press enter which opens a new mini dialog box on the web page Press the tab key 4 times which goes to the group text edit field box where you change the name of the group or leave the name at its default. Press the tab key once. This takes you to an edit field box where you enter a number for the questions to be used and then press the tab key once. This takes you to points per question edit text box this allows you to choose how many points each question is worth by entering a number value and then press the tab key once. This then takes you to link a question bank. Press enter this opens a new pop up window to select from a list of question banks. To select the various banks press the tab key once and press the up and down arrow keys until NVDA tells you that select a bank button comes up and press the enter key which closes the pop up window.

36) Press the tab key once and you should be on create group button. Press enter to complete the group.

37) Press the tab key once and you should arrive at Find question. you can press the enter key to search through the questions. Press the tab key twice and you will arrive at New Questions button.

38) Find question button opens up a Find a Quiz Question dialog box . The mouse cursor is automatically on manage course question bank link. Press the tab key twice. This takes you to select all button, this selects all questions. Press the tab key once, this takes you to the clear all button which deselects all questions. Press the tab key once which takes you to the first question, press enter to select the question. Repeat this step to choose your questions, keep pressing the tab key until you arrive to the add questions to the quiz group drop down box. You can select the group by using the up and down arrow keys. After selecting the group press the tab key once which takes you to add questions buttons. Press enter, this closes Find a Quiz Question dialog box.

39) Press the nvda key plus the f7 key to open up the element list and use the up arrow key to go to the top of the element list and then press the down arrow key until you highlight the questions word in the element list and then press ctrl Key plus the M key and then press the tab key untill you come to the save button and then press the enter key once.

40)This takes you to the netacad course quizzes homepage then press the nvda key plus f7 key to open up the element list and press the down arrow key to be at the very bottom of the element list and then press the up arrow key until you highlight the word preview in the element list and then press the tab key three times to be on the move to button and press the enter key once and then press the tab key once which you will now be on the publish button and press the enter key once to publish the quiz.

Walkthrough for Activation Tools

1) Select a course from the teach section and click on the course.

2) Press the NVDA key with the F7 key which opens up the element list. Type ac in lower case which takes you to the activation tools in the element list. Press the enter key and a pop up window box of a security warning appears hit the enter key once.

3) Press the NVDA key plus the F7 key this opens up the element list and then type qu in lower case for quizzes and then press the tab key 3 times. This takes you to the move to button and press the enter key once.

4) Press the tab key 6 times and press the down arrow key 3 times. This takes you to the load activity in a new window and press the enter key once.

5) This will take you to a new web page on a new tab in the browser which is called Activation tools with 4 options these are: create Activations, Manage Activations, Create Activation Profile and Assessment Viewer.

Create Activations

1) Press the tab key twice to be on the create activations and press the enter key once.

2) Step 1 opens up a new webpage with a list of module assessments. You can cycle through the module assessments by using the tab key. To activate the check boxes use the enter key. After going through the list of module assessments press the tab key continuously until you come to a button called create default activations and press the enter key once.

2) Press the tab key 3 times. This takes you to the view assessment details section. This allows you to cycle through the assessment modules by pressing the tab key. To view each module assessment, press the enter key on the last module assessment by pressing the tab key once and the down arrow key once.

3) This takes you to the assessment administration section which allows you to choose between 3 options on how you can plan to administer the assessment. After selecting your option press the enter key once and then press the tab key once. This takes you to the create default activations button and press the enter key once. This takes you back to activation tools web page.

(!!!Create Advanced Activations for Create Activations)

1) Follow step 1 and 2 except continuously press the tab key until you come across create advanced activations button and press the enter key once.

2) This opens up a new webpage. With the settings tab selected press the tab key once this takes you to start time of assessment. After entering the start date press the tab key once. This takes you to the hourly time selection use the up and down arrow keys to select the hourly time and then press the tab key once. This takes you to the hourly minute section and use the up and down arrow keys to select the hourly minute and press the tab key once. This takes you a section where you can select am or pm.

3) Press the tab key once which takes you to the end time where you enter the date that the assessment becomes unavailable. Follow the rest of step 2 and press the tab key once.

4) Will take you to the view assessment details section. You can go through the various exams by pressing the tab key and can view each modules exam details by pressing the enter key. On the last exam module press the tab key once.

5) Takes you to the Assessment Administration section where you can choose between 3 different options. Press the tab key once. This takes you to the create advanced activation button and then press the enter key once.

1) Follow step 1 and 2 except continuously press the tab key until you come across create advanced activations button and press the enter key once.

2) Press the tab key continuously until you come to the settings link and press the tab key once. This highlights the students link and then press the enter key once.

3) Opens a new webpage with a list of module exams that can be cycled through using the tab key. Press the enter key once which opens up the students list for the exam module and press the tab key once. This takes the mouse curser to the student list for that module so you can determine which students are allowed to take the exam.

4) After going through the various exam modules press the tab key once on the last exam module. This will take you to create advanced activations button and press the enter key once. This takes you back to the activation tools webpage with a successful activation creation text box with a list of modules that were successful.(NVDA can't read or know that it was a successful activation)

Manage Activations

1) Press the tab key 3 times. This takes you to manage activations and press the enter key once.

2) Press the tab key twice. This will take you to the expired activations link you can move between the two links by using the two side arrow keys to manage between current activities or past activities. To activate the links press the enter key on the selected link.

3) After you have finished managing the activations go to the current activations link and press the enter key once and then press the tab key twice. This takes you to the submit button and press the enter key once this takes you to the activation tools website.

Other step 3) Press the tab key 7 times which takes you to the home button and press the enter key once this takes you to the activation tools website.

Activation Profile

1) Press the tab key 4 times which takes you to the activation profile and press the enter key once.

2) Press the tab key once. This takes you to the profile name where you can enter the name of the profile then press the tab key once.

3) Takes you to copy profile from another course section. You can select the different courses by using the up and down arrow keys and then press the tab key once to be on the copy profile button. Press the enter key once to copy the profile otherwise press the tab key once or twice to move to the next section.

4) Will take you to the activation windows section where you can enter days, hours and minutes that the assessment is available for. Press the tab key once on minutes to move to the next section.

5) Takes you to the maximum number of attempts which you can change by using the up and down arrow keys. When the number of attempts is set press the tab key once. This takes you to a check box (instructor must approve additional attempts) after deciding press the tab key once. This takes you to another check box (instructor must re-enable incomplete assessments) after deciding press the tab key once.

6) Takes you to the Languages section with 22 check boxes for various languages. On the last language check box which is Vietnamese press the tab key once.

7) Takes you to the form attributes section. The first check box (Randomise items) the second check box (student item feedback) and the third check box (student view correct answer). Press the tab key once on the third check box.

8) This takes you to the assessment administration options which allows you to choose how you plan to administer the assessment. After selecting an option press the tab key once. This takes you to the reset profile button which will reset all the settings in the profile.

Assessment Viewer

1) Press the tab key 4 times to get to the assessment viewer and press the enter key once.

2) This opens a new webpage with a list of the module exams. Press the tab key once and press the down arrow key once. This takes you to the module exam list. Use the up and down arrow keys to move between the various module exams. After selecting the module press the enter key once.

3) This takes you to a new webpage with a list of various exams that are available in different languages. Press the tab key 6 times. This takes you to the English exam and press the enter key once to start the exam.

Publish a Course

1) Choose your course from net space home and click the enter key once.

2) Press the tab key once this takes this takes you to a pop up window at the bottom of the screen press the tab key again to be on the import content link.

3) Press the tab key five times this takes you to the publish course link and press the enter key once and then press the tab key once this takes you to the publish course button and press the enter key once this takes you back to the course homepage.

Alternative step 3) With NVDA running press the insert key plus the F7 key which opens up the element list and select publish and then press the enter key once and press the tab key 13 times which takes you to the publish course button and press the enter key once.

Uploading a CSV file

1) The user must be in the Net Space home page where the lecture has the list of all the courses the person is teaching in the teach tab.

2)select the course from the Teach list and press the or down arrow key until you come across a picture of a gear that is next next to your selected course the picture of the gear in NVDA is called graphic teach pppid omni port and press the enter key once.

3) This takes you to a new webpage where you can edit settings for the course and press the insert key plus the F7 key key which opens up the element list and scroll down the element list until you come to upload a CSV and press the enter key once this open up a new dialog box called upload a CSV.

Alternative to Step 3) go through the website with jaws until come to the bottom where students and enroll students and click on picture of the gear which is graphic teach pppid omni port and press the enter key once to open up the list and select upload a CSV.

Add Existing Account

1) The user must be in the Net Space home page where the lecture has the list of all the courses the person is teaching in the teach tab.

2)select the course from the Teach list and press the or down arrow key until you come across a picture of a gear that is next next to your selected course the picture of the gear in NVDA is called graphic teach pppid omni port and press the enter key once.

3) This takes you to a new webpage where you can edit settings for the course and press the insert key plus the F7 key key which opens up the element list and scroll down the element list until you come to Add Existing and press the enter key once this takes you to a new webpage called Search and enroll prior students.

Alternative to Step 3) go through the website with jaws until come to the bottom where students and enroll students and click on picture of the gear which is graphic teach pppid omni port and press the enter key once to open up the list and select Add Existing.
